Nine years before the film Le Mans was released Steve McQueen was asked to do a full time race series in Europe. This is what he said after the offer:
"It was a really tough decision, because I didn't know if I was an actor who raced, or a racer who acted."
The film Le Mans was Steve McQueen's obsession, to make it the true window into the racing world he needed a million feet of film, 43 professional racing drivers, months spent filming at La Sarthe and a bill at the end of it that nearly bankrupted Steve's production company Solar Productions. However because of Steve's belief that everything had to be done properly it is viewed by many as the most realistic racing film in history. The film is 40 years old and still being talked about today.

JMW are proud to have been involved with two top line British motorsport championships. In 2010 jmwdvd.co.uk appeared on the sidepod of Britain's most successful driver in speed hillclimbing Martin Groves. Martin did the business again to become champion for the fourth time.
